About the National Scleroderma Foundation
The National Scleroderma Foundation is a national nonprofit with a mission to support, educate and fund research on behalf of the scleroderma community. Our work is focused on supporting scleroderma patients and their families.
The Foundation’s national office is located in Greater Boston and operates with 16 chapters and 160 support groups across the country.
About Scleroderma
Scleroderma is a chronic, autoimmune disease. There is no known cause and no known cure YET. The immune system in a patient attacks its own body. Scleroderma means “hard skin”. However, the disease causes serious damage to internal organs including the lungs, heart and gastrointestinal tract. There are some medications which can ease some symptoms but there is NO cure.
The Foundation is grateful for those who raise funds to support research and create hope for its patients.
THANK YOU!
