Mar's Mafia was created in memory of Mary Jo Mattle.
Mary Jo was diagnosed with scleroderma in 2001 and lived for 21 years with this disease, affecting her physically, emotionally and socially. Despite the many ups and downs she faced, she was a fighter - determined and strong-willed to not let this disease define her. 

Mary Jo was a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and friendly stranger to all. Her smile and energy was contagious and she had a way of making everyone feel special. Mar's Mafia was created to honor her legacy. Mafia means family, whether it be blood or friends who become family - and to Mary Jo, family was always #1. Just as she was there for us, her family, her mafia, we are here for her.
