Welcome to My Personal Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma Page!
Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page to support the "Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma" event on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, FL. The face of scleroderma includes people of all ages, genders and backgrounds. It can affect every organ of the body; and, the life impact is different for each scleroderma patient.
A quick update on how I am doing. Currently, my overall condition is stable. Last year's diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis/pulmonary hypertension required additional medications. While the damage that has been done to my lungs cannot be improved, my lungs have not worsened over the past year, which is great news!
Doing what I can to support the National Scleroderma Foundation and other patients is very important to me. Each year presents new opportunities to expand my volunteerism with the Foundation. I am now a certified Support Group Leader and stepped into the role of Chair of our Chapter's Advisory Committee. This past summer, our Chapter expanded to include the entire state of Florida and Puerto Rico. This expansion will give us an opportunity to provide support to more scleroderma patients and their families!
Unfortunately, the cause of scleroderma is still unknown and a cure is still needed. So please consider supporting us this year. A big thank you to those who have supported us in the past!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to support me and help raise funds for scleroderma patients. To make a donation, click the "Donate Now" button that appears under my photo. Then, just follow the instructions.
If you would like to join me and help raise funds, please click on “Join My Team” and follow the directions. Our team name is "Desi's Feet on Fire Squad".
Please help today! As a scleroderma patient, I sincerely appreciate your support, and ask that you please share this with anyone who you think might want to help.
Help me bring more awareness to scleroderma so we can find a cure!
