Dear Friends and Family,
 
I hope this message finds everyone well.  Spring is almost upon us and this year’s Stampede Scleroderma at the Detroit Zoo will be here before we know it.  Last year I was overwhelmed by the support and generosity of everyone who participated, either in person or from afar.  Your efforts and generosity helped put Sarah’s Sclero Stompers in the top 5 teams in donations coming in at over $3,500.  This year I’m confident that we can surpass that amount.  So, please consider joining me again for this year's event at the Detroit Zoo on Sunday, June 7th.  This is a great chance for you to meet new friends and support people battling scleroderma, a rare autoimmune disease that causes a person's skin to harden along with many other complications. Your participation will help support the mission of the Scleroderma Foundation, an organization that works to bring important resources to patients all across the U.S.

I will be participating in the Mile Walk but there are many options to choose from to include a 5k, Mile Run, or simply admission to the zoo for those who may be unable to participate in the other events.  All participants receive a free t-shirt and free admission to the zoo for the entire day.  Please note that this year all activities will be located in one area: the Water Tower Parking Lot directly next to the zoo parking structure off the 696 service drive. The entertainment stage will be front and center with the educational program beginning at 8:00 a.m.  Also, registration closes at 8:30 a.m.  If you register after 8:30 a.m. you will have to pay an extra fee to enter the zoo after the walk.  I know some of you live far away but you can still support the team virtually by donating through the same link provided above. 

Join the team and then forward the information to anyone who you think might want to donate or join the team. Your donation and spreading the word means a great deal to me and thousands of scleroderma patients.

After the event you are all invited to a cookout at my house at 30520 Berghway Trl, Warren, MI, 48092.
