Almost 17 years ago Pat first became so incredibly sick, physically incapacitated and filled with fear. Typical of many autoimmune diseases, it took a long time to be diagnosed. This year we are once again raising funds in Pat's memory, as she died September 27, 2020.
This is our 16th year walking for “Team Pat D!” Due to COVID-19 we hope you will either walk IN-PERSON or VIRTUALLY again with "Team Pat D" on Saturday June 4th. Thank you for your donations to help find a cure through research, educate the public and provide support to scleroderma patients.

Which brings our story full circle: You may remember that Pat weathered a full year of daily chemotherapy that helped slow the disease & eventually survived on anti-rejection meds designed for organ transplant patients, ALL thanks to the research that had been done.
Pat had hoped to see a cure within her lifetime...still working on this Pat!

Scleroderma, like other autoimmune diseases has no cure as the disease's cause has not yet been determined. There are extremely bright and dedicated professionals out there trying to discover why scleroderma happens and how to make it stop. The problem is that there are not many researchers dedicated to curing Scleroderma because the disease is not wide spread or well-known. Therefore, not much money is donated or available to increase the number of researchers and studies needed to find a cure.
