Scleroderma is a chronic, often progressive, autoimmune disease. It can cause thickening or tightening of the skin, as well as serious damage to internal organs. Symptoms may include extreme sensitivity to cold, gastrointestinal problems, muscle and joint pain, difficulty breathing, hand contractures and facial changes. It is not contagious, hereditary or cancerous, but its symptoms can vary from mild to life-threatening. Its cause is unknown and, presently, there is no cure.

Please join me again this year to raise awareness and money to help find a cure for Scleroderma! When I became involved in the first Walk in 2005 to honor my son, Ian, I had no idea where the journey would take me. So many folks have supported us in many different ways and I am truly grateful.

It is a privilege to walk in honor of my son, Ian, and so many others diagnosed with Scleroderma. His zest for life and positive attitude truly motivate and inspire me!

Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page to support the "Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma" event!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to support me and help raise funds for scleroderma patients. To make a donation, click the "Support Team IAN" button that appears under my photo. Then, just follow the instructions.

Please join our team on September 25th at 10:00 at DCR Artesani Park, 1255 Soldiers Field Road, Boston. You don't need to walk to support this cause; just show up for the fun, food, DJ and team photo (11:30am).

With much gratitude and appreciation -

Chris
