Go Team Skippy!! This will be our 8th year walking. COVID has definitely challenged us all but for someone with an Autoimmune disease this year has been particularly terrifying! At this point, most of you are aware, our family received shocking news 7 1/2 years ago that my sister Kathy aka "Skippy" had received a diagnosis of Systemic Diffuse Scleroderma. Scleroderma literally means hard skin. The disease can attack vital internal organs and cause many complications. Kathy was diagnosed with interstitial lung disease and has some scarring in the lower lobe of her lung. She is very susceptible to pneumonia and other contagious illnesses (such as COVID) due to her lowered immune system. Scleroderma has taken a major toll on Kathy's hands and she has developed ulcers on all her fingers and a bad infection in her thumb. This has been very painful for her but she is a trooper and perseveres every day! There is currently no cure for this disease and team Skippy would like to help change that! Every day new advances are being made and researchers are learning more about this disease.
Please help us reach our goal of raising $2000 to assist in finding a cure for this rare disease. Thank you for your continued support!
