Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma Virtual Walk Highland Park 2021

For Honor

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, a virtual "Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma" walk will take place to benefit the Scleroderma Foundation of Greater Chicago. The funds raised will be used to support individuals diagnosed with Scleroderma; a portion of these funds will also be used to fund the crucial research to find a cure.

Scleroderma is an auto-immune disease affecting approximately 300,000 persons in the United States. It is estimated that as many as 2.5 million people around the globe have a form of Scleroderma. The disease has a serious impact on the daily life of those diagnosed with Scleroderma; for some, it is fatal.

Our team is seeking contributions to the Scleroderma Foundation of Greater Chicago, in memory of two special people: Honor Dempsey-Carter, who died from Scleroderma-related causes in 1999, and her father, Thomas Dempsey, who was a dedicated supporter of the foundation and its quest for a cure.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to support our team’s effort to raise funds for people living with Scleroderma. If you would like more information about Scleroderma, please visit: national.scleroderma.org.

If you would like to make a donation, click on one of the team members listed on our team's roster. If you would like to join our "virtual" walk and help raise funds on August 21, please click on “Join Team” and follow the directions. Since our team isn't walking as a group this year, we will #WalkAloneTogetherSF.

We sincerely appreciate your support, and we ask you to please share this site with anyone who you think might want to help fund the ongoing research to find a cure for Scleroderma.
