We started participating in this walk 10 years ago, 2 months after my mother passed away from Scleroderma. We wish we could have been the family that was blessed with more time with her, but since we couldn't, we've strived to help that goal become a reality for future families who are contending with this disease. 

Over these past 10 years I've heard of more and more people who are afflicted with it. Knowing what they are going through and knowing there is no cure is heartbreaking to me, and that is why we do this every year.
