 he foundation's annual Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma events continue to be huge successes. Thousands of people across the country walked, ran and stroll countless miles to support the scleroderma community. These champions raised approximately $1 million across 66 events. Walk donations support local chapters, patient education seminars and support groups- all part of our three-fold mission.
Here in south Florida our annual Coconut Creek gatherings continue to be a reunion, renewal and rejuvenation of efforts to help our friends and families affected by this disease. Because of generous donors, volunteers and participants – just like you – we are able to get one step closer to finding a cure for scleroderma.

Laughing Out Loud

| Supporters of scleroderma patients packed the house and helped raise more than $153,000 at the recent Laugh Out Loud for Scleroderma benefit for the Southeast Florida Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation.
The event, staged at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, featured comedian Dom Irrera and Jason Alexander, best known for playing George Costanza on "Seinfeld." Alexander, whose sister has the disease, agreed to do a stand-up routine and serve as master of ceremonies for the event free of charge, said Ferne Robin, the chapter's executive director. About 30 percent of the proceeds will go to the national foundation, and the rest will support local education and patient support programs.
