The National Scleroderma Foundation’s Michigan Chapter is excited to announce our inaugural Stepping Out Mt. Pleasant walk!

Sign up, form, or join a team, and help us fundraise. We need your help to reach and exceed our $10,000 fundraising goal!

When you register for the 2023 event, your $35 donation supports the National Scleroderma Foundation’s three-fold mission to provide educational and emotional support to people with scleroderma and their families; to stimulate and support research designed to identify the cause and cure of scleroderma as well as improve methods of treatment; and, to enhance the public's awareness of this disease.

While our walk benefits all those dealing with scleroderma, this walk has a special focus on men with the disease. They make up only 20% of all those with scleroderma. Michigan currently hosts the only men’s support group in the world! We have members from as close as Mt. Pleasant and as far away as Australia! This walk is designed to help bring awareness to this demographic who suffer from this disease.

Start by signing up, then raise even more funds and grow your team by:

1. Inviting your friends and family to join your team and register for the walk for $35.

2. Setting a fundraising goal for your in-person or virtual event and asking your team members to fundraise. Every dollar is a significant contribution.

3. When fundraising, take photos and share them with the Michigan Chapter. We will post them on our social media.

Challenge to our teams: We’re challenging every individual to raise a minimum of $250. Did you know our top team leaders in the Detroit walk raise an average of $2,000 every year? If every team that registered also raised $2,000 (or more), we would easily exceed our fundraising goal.
