Detroit Tigers Day at the Ballpark Scleroderma Awareness Event
Join us at the ballpark! We are designated as the “Group Charity of the Game” for the Detroit Tigers vs. Kansas City Royals baseball game. This is also “Jim Leyland” night to celebrate Jim being inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame. It means there will be a packed house!
Event Information: Bringing awareness of Scleroderma is one of the Foundation's most fundamental goals. By being the Group Charity of the Game, we are given several opportunities to bring a high-level of awareness to a significant number of people. Some features of our awareness activities are:
- We will have a minimum of 100 people sitting together in the stands wearing our teal color. The more tickets we sell, the larger our visual presence will be.
- Our logo will be featured on the scoreboard during the fourth inning, and we will be introduced as the Group Charity of the Game. The scoreboard at Comerica Park is new this year and is the second largest in the major leagues! We will be able to display a QR code for people to get instant information about us. The game is expected to sell out meaning over 40,000 people will see it!
- We will be given an in-game shoutout as the featured Group Charity of the Game on the Tiger Radio Radio Network, consisting of 49 Radio stations. The average game has 100,000 listeners.
- We will get posts on @TigersCommunity social media with over 40,000 followers.
- We get a table on the concourse for the entire game where we can give away information about scleroderma, the Foundation, and our chapter.
All of this means that for this one event, we can bring awareness to over 200,000 people, with the potential to reach a quarter of a million!
Cost: $45. You receive a ticket to the game and a free Teal Support Scleroderma T-shirt to wear at the game. No need to get to the park early as there will be no check-in required. You will receive your tickets directly from the Tigers/MLB via your mobile device.
We get to bring up to 40 people on the field after the game for a group photo. Anyone who sells or referrs more than 15 tickets gets on the field for the photo!
Time: First Pitch is at 6:10 PM
Seats: All our seats will be together to maximize the visual impact.
Volunteers Needed: We will need volunteers to staff the information table on the concourse. We are asking for 30-minute shifts so nobody has to miss a large portion of the game.
